Characteristics of the vintage
Great vintage in Tokaj, marked by freshness and vibrant acidity. With temperatures around average (or slightly below) and low annual rainfall, although with even distribution avoiding water stress, ripening was much earlier than expected. By the end of August, the grapes showed a perfectly ripe profile: high sugar concentrations while retaining a distinct acidity. The dry white wines stand out for their excellent quality, while the Aszú wines, with their vertical structure and rich flavours, promise to be exceptional.
Harvest
Manual harvest of fully ripened, healthy bunches in small boxes of 20 kg (44 lbs). Many different plots of the Disznókő vineyard were harvested separately. The harvest for dry white wines extended from September 3rd to September 17th, an unusually long period. This phase was punctuated by interruptions caused by heavy rainfall, forcing us to carry out rigorous grape sorting.
Vinification
The fruits of the different plots were vinified separately. The grapes were full bunch pressed (directly without destemming), allowed to settle for a night and then fermented in stainless steel vats at a temperature controlled between 16-18°C (61-64 F). No malolactic fermentation.
Blend
100% Furmint
Maturing
The different lots were blended in mid-October, then the wine was aged on its gross lees for 6 weeks and then continued its ageing on its fine lees in stainless steel vats for another 4 months. Bottled in end of April 2026 in 750 ml Tokaji bottle with glass stoppers.
Tasting notes
Light straw-yellow robe with green highlights. Green apple, almond, stone fruits aromas on the nose together with some herbal and vegetal hints like green spices. It has fresh acidity, good mouth filling with salinity and elegant bitterness leading to a good mineral finish.
